Working so closely with local authorities, we are acutely aware of the demand for mixed-use schemes which combine residential and retail use in town centre locations. Their abilities to regenerate and boost revenues are highly prized.
In response to this, we have recently acquired a site next door to the Waitrose supermarket in the heart of Wantage, the historic market town to the south west of Oxford. A detailed planning application has been submitted for a mixed-use development consisting of 7,500 sq ft of retail space, with 12 one and two bedroom apartments above.
Externally the proposed building is of traditional character design, in keeping with the period style of the town centre, then complemented by a contemporary finish and style inside. The location of the proposed development really couldn’t be more convenient, with shops, good schools and a weekly market right on the doorstep.
